1 Week, 2 Days, and 5 Hours and Counting

Back to back undefeated conference seasons. The nation's longest current win streak. Pre-season Coaches and AP rankings of 17 and 16 respectively. A pretty good schedule (too bad most of the exciting games will happen away from LaVell Edwards Stadium.) And the potential to match up for a season finale against a rival with as much potential to be unbeaten and ranked (as long as they can get by Michigan.) The excitement is mounting. The best part, the tickets showed up in the mail this past week. Yeah, I'm excited!

Don't forget to come back and check out the Utah Joke of the Day on my sidebar.

This should be good

When I started this blog, I did it so that I could rant and rave about whatever I wanted to since Melanie didn't want me to do it on our blog. I only ever intended to really go on about sports and such. But I've neglected my writing responsibilities for lack of anything important to talk about. I mean, who cares about baseball until October anyway?

Yeah, I could start in about the Olympics. I've enjoyed them immensely, even the gymnastics and the sychronized diving - I mean, how anyone can flip on a four inch wide beam or dive the exact same dive in unison with another human being is beyond me. But what would I really discuss that hasn't already been discuss ad nauseum on countless blogs and ESPN pages? Michael Phelps and his quest for 8? The cheating Chinese gymnasts? The Spanish National Teams posing with “Chinese Eyes?”

I could, but that'd be boring. No, I prefer to focus on something much closer to home. BYU football. Two weeks from tomorrow I'll be sitting here:

First time ever as a season ticket holder, headlined by UCLA coming to town (I won't even start on the fact that Ben Olson won't be in uniform for me to boo his traitorous, crybaby backside with his latest excuse.)

Its in this vein that I have started my Utah joke of the day (and thanks also goes to a push from a poor, misguided friend who claims to be a Utah fan. I just had to defend my team.) Check the sidebar from now on to see the latest and best Utah jokes. And if you have any you want to see on here, leave me a message and I'll be happy to put them up on the sidebar.

Dum dum dum

So, the fantasy football draft order was set this weekend and I got the dreaded first pick. Now, that's an obvious pick, but after that, 18 more picks go by the wayside until I draft again. Who do you pick with the 20th and the 21st picks? Hmmm, should make for an interesting draft? Time to bust out the creativity cap.

Any suggestions?

I almost forgot, the draft order . . . yes. For some reason, it doesn't post the order on the site, so here it is all you draft hungry people.

1. Erus Nex
2. No More Call Center
3. The Tulisuus
4. DaBumblinHerd
5. Flying Squirrels
6. The Jigger Nuts
7. Scuba Steve
8. Bohica Buddy
9. The Pacos
0. The Mighty Bluedarts

Fantasy Football 2008

With the approaching deadline to begin signing up leagues/teams for the 2008 fantasy football season, I just wanted to give a little update. On my blog here (check out the sidebar) I will post any links I find useful. For example, if you need help with something as simple as naming your team, there you go. If you need help with cheat sheets or drafting strategies, your wish is my command. If you want to practice drafting so you can get a feel for how your actual draft might go, then by all means, check out the links.

I hope that everything you need I will be able to provide it for you on this blog. If you find something you simply want to share with all, just leave me a comment and I'll take care of the rest.

Happy pre-draft preparation!
